I sent them out to the garden to harvest the last of our kale; they are the orange-vested bodies in the first picture. They came back and said, “there wasn’t much after we removed the bad leaves.”
The basket full (below) is “not much kale” in our family. :-)
Normally, I’d post this on Facebook and get quick answers from several friends in-the-know. I’m continuing my experiment with returning to my personal site rather than leaning so heavily on Facebook, so I’ll post it here and see what happens…
These mushrooms were growing in the leaf-filled crevice on the edge of my asparagus bed. Are they edible?
(I won’t eat them until I’m *sure,* of course!)

Don’t tell my Dad (he reads my posts, hi, Dad!), because he loves digging the garden and surely has some kind of system, but I did a little digging today.
The fluffy stuff on the right is the asparagus I’ve written about before. Next year we get to harvest and eat it!!
